Pilates

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th Century by Joseph Pilates in Germany. There are now millions of people across the world who regularly take classes.  Pilates called his method Contrology because he believed that his method uses the mind to control the muscles. The program focuses on the core postural which help keep the body balanced and which are essential in providing support for the spine. Pilates excercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, aiming to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

We understand that you may be wanting to take Pilates sessions for medical reasons or simply for additional fitness. Whatever the reason you will be treated as an individual in the class and we will only work at your pace and within your capability. 

 

We currently run four Pilates sessions each week. Each session lasts an hour and the cost is £5 for each lesson.
